The Federal Ministry of Health has announced the whopping amount of money the Federal Government will be expending on the prevention of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
This was said by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, during a briefing session with the Senate Committee on Health. Osagie had appeared before the panel to reel out the plans the ministry has in order to prevent the outbreak of the deadly virus in Nigeria.
He noted that the ministry had requested the sum of N620m so as to take proactive measures against the spread of the virus. He added that a multi-stakeholder meeting had been had within the ministry seeking to deploy port health services to screen all passengers coming into Nigeria.
Expressing its concerns, the Senate queries why the screenings are not taking place in the Chattered flight passengers wing of the local flights that arrived at the airports, saying such oversight could lead to the virus getting into the country.
