Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has tested positive to the Coronavirus, although he is showing no symptoms yet.
Seyi Makinde took to Twitter to announce this, stating that he will continue to be in self-isolation and getting treatment.
He noted that he had put the former Chief Medical Director of the UCH as the Head of the COVID-19 task force in the state while he recovers. he further enjoined Nigerians to ensure they keep up with the preventive measures and stay home so as to be safe.
“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate. I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe“, he tweeted.
