The President, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, 7th December made a promise to deal decisively with all forms of unlawful protests in the country and hag those behind them.

He stated that no protest or protesters will be allowed to threaten the peace and stability of the country.

This is according to a tweet from the presidency which reads:

“President @Mbuhari today in Abuja warned that any act of hooliganism hiding behind lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively to ensure peace and stability in the country.”

The President’s statement is coming amidst earlier reports that armed policemen and other security operatives have been deployed at the Lekki toll gate, Lagos, in an attempt to forestall another round of #EndSARS protest.

Eyewitnesses which spoke on the event revealed that the security operatives were deployed to the location around midnight.
