A total of 206 additional patients have beaten the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
Specifically, the figure of 206 represents the number of people who recovered from COVID-19 as at yesterday; Thursday June 4, 2020. Consequently, they had been issued a clean bill of health and discharged to re-unite with their families. Equally important, the 206 freshly discharged cases have swelled the ranks of recoveries in Nigeria to 3,535.
Meanwhile, 350 new cases of COVID-19 were reported across Nigeria on Thursday; thereby taking total confirmed cases in Nigeria to 11,516.
Lagos State continued its remarkable run as the undisputed hub of new infections; accounting for 102 out of the 350 new cases, the highest. Also, seven other states and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) racked up double figures in new infections.
They include Ogun with 34 new cases, Borno with 26, Kaduna with 23 and Rivers which recorded 21 new cases. Others are Ebonyi with 17, Kwara with 16 and Katsina which accounted for 14 new cases. Equally important, the FCT, on its part, recorded 29 new infections on Thursday.
In summary, a total of 19 states and the FCT were responsible for the 350 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
Furthermore, eight fresh casualties were recorded across Nigeria in the updates released on Thursday. The new deaths have thus seen the death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic rise to 323 in Nigeria.
The foregoing details were made available by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Specifically, the details were published via its verified handle on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

Meanwhile, further details on the management of the COVID-19 pandemic were shared on its micro-site. Specifically, the NCDC disclosed that active cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria currently stand at 7,658. Also, total samples tested so far stood at 71,336 as at Thursday.
