Seun Kuti Recounts Prison Experience, Say They Put Me In Cold Floor

Seun Kuti, an afrobeat musician nominated for a Grammy, has spoken about his time spent in police custody. According to the Yaba Chief Magistrate Court’s orders, the singer was remanded in the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for assaulting a police officer in a widely circulated video.
After eight days in custody, Kuti was finally given bail on Tuesday, according to DAILY POST. On Friday, Kuti detailed his traumatic incarceration experience on his Instagram story.
He said he was made to lay down on a “hard cold floor, in the midst of prisoners.” He, however, added that it was “still better than sitting in the devil’s house with politicians.”
