On the 8th of June, 2021, singer and songwriter, Niniola Apata took to her social media platform, Instagram to publish the Grammy Certificate for her contribution to the album, “Lion King”
Recall, “Lion King” broke the charts when released in July 2019, and received a Grammy nomination in the category, “Best Pop Vocal Album” in 2020, The album won the groundbreaking award with a couple of African artistes featured.
The Afro-house singer took to her Instagram platform to publish her certificate.

In other news, Niniola’s colleague, Tems received a BET Awards nomination.
1st News gathered that the 25-year-old ‘Try me’ was nominated in the Best New International Act category.
She was nominated on Monday, June 7.
She was nominated alongside South African R&B singer, Elaine; British acts; Arlo Parks and Bree Runway, who are both rappers and singers.
Meanwhile, Tems has continued to experience rapid progress in her music career.
The 25-year-old singer made her mainstream debut in 2019 with the single, ‘Try Me’. She released two other singles, ‘Looku Looku’ and ‘Mr. Rebel’ before she released her impressive project, For Broken Ears EP in 2020.
Tems also featured on Wizkid’s single, ‘Essence’ which is off his 4th studio album, Made In Lagos.
In a previous interview, 1st News documented what Tems said about recording the smash hit with Star Boy.

“Even (on) the day I recorded (my verse on the song), I felt I could do better.
I asked them to send me the beat again so I could redo my verse but they (Wizkid’s team) said it was great.
I told them I still wanted to ‘top it’ but they did not let me.
However, I was happy with it. I always like to challenge myself and I used to be such a perfectionist.
Wizkid also said he liked it.”
