Nigerian recording artiste, Ckay real name Chukwuka Ekweani has struck a deal with Warner Bros Music Group South Africa.
The news was confirmed by the record label on Friday, November 27.
Equally, this also means the end of Ckay’s four-year stint with one of Nigeria’s biggest record labels, Chocolate City.
In a Twitter announcement, Warner wrote;
“We’re thrilled to welcome @ckay_yo to the Warner Music family!
The star is working on his sophomore album and a first major-label debut which is set to drop in 2021!

Ckay would release his debut album on the label.
This album would be a follow-up to his EPs, ‘Who is Ckay?’ and ‘CKay The First.’
It’s been a stellar year for Ckay who released the international smash hit, ‘Love Nwantiti [Remix]’ at the start of 2020. Recently, he featured on South African rapper; J Molley‘s album, All Is Fair In Love & War.
CKay‘s former label, Chocolate City, is also in a joint-venture deal with Warner Music Group.
CKay was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Ekweani the city of Kaduna, Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria.
He was introduced to music by his father who was a choir conductor; and by 13, the 25-year-old artiste had began producing and writing music in a Christian group, where he nurtured his musical skills.
The Nigerian artiste is known for producing music for Dice Ailes, M.I Abaga; Oritse Femi; Ice Prince, Falz, DJ Neptune; Ruby Gyang, Yung6ix; and several other prominent artists in Nigeria.
