Big Brother Naija returns as DSTV opts for online audition

Big Brother Naija, the widely viewed reality show, is set to return for another edition this year.

However, DSTV has announced that the audition for Big Brother Naija 2020 will be conducted online.

According to the organizers, the audition for the popular reality show will take place online. Further, they stated that there would be no physical venue.

Equally important, this was disclosed in a post made on the company’s Twitter page on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020; where it confirmed that auditions for this season’s edition of the show will hold online.

Specifically, the post read:

“Hello, Please be informed that Auditions for this season’s Big Brother Naija will hold completely online via the Africa.”

This would be the fifth edition of the Big Brother Naija competition. Since its inception in 2006, it has been one of the foremost reality shows in the country.

Mercy makes history at Big Brother Naija 2019

At the 2019 Big Brother Naija edition, former video vixen and dancer, Mercy Eke became the first lady to win the competition. Mercy was announced the winner on the 99th day; 10 days after she was involved in an infamous bout with arch-rival, Tacha.

She took home the sum of N60million worth of prizes, including a brand new Innoson SUV worth N25million, plus an all-expenses-paid trip for two to an exotic destination.

Mike finished as the first runner-up while Frodd emerged second runner-up.

The other two finalists were Omashola and Seyi.

This fourth edition tagged ‘Pepper Dem’ started with 21 housemates.

These housemates included Omashola, Avala, Khafi, Ike, Frodd, Ella, Nelson, Isilomo, Kimophra, Esther, Sir DEE, Tuoyo, Thelma, Sheyi, Diane, Jeff, Mike, Mercy, Tacha, Gedoni, and Jackye. 6 other housemates – Venita, Elozonam, Enkay, Joe and Cindy, joined the show later.
