Nnamdi Oduamadi is highly excited that he will spend the pre-season with AC Milan. Oduamadi scored three goals for Nigeria in the Confederation Cup match against Tahiti on Monday. Milan decided to bring back the player who went through their youth system for the pre-season following the feat.
“Galliani said that I’ll train with Milan next month? I’m ready to pay for food and accommodation if I can work with (Max) Allegri,” Oduamadi, who spent last season on loan at Varese, told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I have to call my mom Patricia in Lagos, immediately. You know 2012 was a tough year; I had a muscular injury that made me miss the following Africa Cup of Nations. I could’ve become a champion with Nigeria. Instead, I got nothing. My mom Patricia told me ‘keep chasing your dreams, don’t give up.’ She was right.
“I want to watch my first goal against Tahiti on the television. It was a goal worthy of my idol Ronaldo. Yes Ronaldo, il Fenomeno. I got to know him when he played at Milan, during a friendly with the Primavera. At the end of the match I asked coach Ancelotti if I could shake hands with the champion. The coach took me to the dressing room and Ronaldo spoke to me for a few minutes and a few days later he gave me a Selecao jersey with his autograph.
“The best thing about my hat-trick against Tahiti is that it reminded Milan that I exist. I’m happy that Allegri has stayed on the Rossoneri bench. He’s a great coach. It would be fantastic to play with Balotelli and El Shaarawy.”
